The first day of racing for the 2025 season was completed on Saturday with the Superkarts! USA Winter Series completing Round One of the eighth season for the championship. The Orlando Kart Center, hosting the series for the first time, welcomed a record-setting non-SuperNationals event with over 300 entries competing in the nine categories on the day. Rain hit the area early in the morning, leaving a wet track through warm-up and it wasn’t until halfway through qualifying that drivers began switching over to the dry Evinco Tires. Cooler temperatures and strong winds kept everyone bundled up throughout the day despite the temps reaching the low 60s. One red flag on the day delayed the action by 30 minutes, pushing the final few main events under the lights at the Orlando, Florida circuit. In the end, four victories by Kart Republic led the way, including two-time SuperNationals winner Joe Turney claiming the Pro X30 victory while four-time SuperNationals winner Daniel Formal claimed victory in his Birelart debut with PSL Karting.

Fresh off a record setting campaign in Florida, the Superkarts! USA organization is turning its focus on the 2025 SKUSA Pro Tour. Set for its 16th straight season, the championship will again be comprised of three events to crown this year’s title winners. The highest entry numbers ever at the 2025 SKUSA Winter Series could forecast a big year for the SKUSA Pro Tour.
The class structure for the 2025 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour remains unchanged, including the two Pro classes of Pro Shifter and Pro X30. The change from last year will be the return of Pro X30 to contest two rounds of racing each weekend alongside the Semi-Pro classes. Drivers competing in Pro X30 will also be allowed to compete in the KA100 Senior class, as there are no longer any restrictions placed on Senior drivers competing in both divisions on the same weekend. Pro Shifter will continue with one round per weekend, including qualifying, two heats on Saturday, and now with a Prefinal and Final on Sunday.
The largest prize package ever for the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour was introduced in 2024 and will continue for the upcoming 2025 season, reaching a total of $310,000. The Pro Shifter podium on Sunday each weekend totals $8,500 – with $5,000 to the winner. The top three in Pro X30 for all six main events in 2025 will be racing for $4,250 in total, with the winner earning $2,500 for each victory. The overall total for the 2025 weekend payout for the Pro categories is $51,000.

The newest category to the SKUSA SuperNationals is KA100 Master, which was introduced into the line-up in 2022. The class has taken over as the headline single-speed category for drivers over the age of 30. While there is no KA100 Master class on the SKUSA Pro Tour, multiple other programs including the Texas Sprint Racing Series and ProKart Challenge contest the division, and it had continued to sell out for Vegas over its first four editions. The 2025 ProKart Challenge hosted the second event of the season, making its inaugural visit to the Spring Mountain Karting facility over the April 12-13 weekend. The new karting track in Pahrump, Nevada – roughly one hour from downtown Las Vegas – welcomed over 130 entries to contest the third round of the championship chase. At just over 7/10-mile long, the ‘North Track’ is a replica of the former XPlex course outside Las Vegas, site of the first five SKUSA SuperNationals.

2021 Is still a few weeks away, but the mood is already positive in SKUSA’s main office. Superkarts! USA and Mexico’s KBR are excited to officially announce SKUSA Mexico, kicking off in January 2021 in Mexico City. The joint venture aims to combine the success and model of the SKUSA platform with an already thriving and successful regional program, south of the border.
“Luis Jauregui is a person who shares the same genuine passion for this sport as I do,” remarked an excited Tom Kutscher. The SKUSA president went on to add, “In 20 years, I have never seen anyone who cares more about the sport and its people than he does. Watching him this weekend, interact with everyone, offering support and hearing everyone out, made me so excited for this next chapter.”
SKUSA will be supporting the new venture with insight, training, logistics, and key personnel. With its existing portfolio of Evinco Tires, IAME, and race sanctioning and promotion, Superkarts! USA are committing to augmenting the early success already occurring in Mexico City.
IAME USA West’s Alexis Kutscher commented, “We will be bringing our key employees to Mexico to help train and support the KBR staff. In everything from tech, to officiating, our plan is to preserve a model that’s proven successful in the continental United States.” She also shared “we had the great pleasure of attending KBR’s regional final and we were very impressed with the turnout, the professionalism, and the shared passion for racing.”
The six-race series kicks off January 30-31 in Mexico City and consists of six rounds to make up the 2021 championship. With a class format the mimics that of SKUSA’s ProTour, the SKUSA Mexico class structure will be as follows:
