The 2025 season for the ProKart Challenge is ushering in a resurgence for the Superkarts! USA regional program. Following the double-round weekend that opened the season at the new K1 Circuit, the championship program is now set to venture to another new facility, this time in Nevada. The third round of the 2025 ProKart Challenge is scheduled for April 12-13 at the Spring Mountain Karting facility. The Pahrump, NV circuit finished paving in 2024 and will welcome Superkarts! Spring Mountain Karting circuit is part of the Spring Mountain Motor Resort & Country Club facility that features over six miles of racetrack with resort-style amenities. The karting course broke ground in April 2024 on a 45-acre plot on the southeastern portion of the facility. The opening weekend of the 2025 Superkarts! USA Winter Series came to a close on Sunday at the Orlando Kart Center. It was an improvement on the weather side for the over 300 entries at the Orlando, Florida facility. Clear skies brought on sunshine all day, despite chilly temps when the gates opened, there was no wind to allow the temps to rise into the 60s. Laps were cut down by two in both the Prefinal and Final, helping to keep on the printed schedule on the day. The main events wrapped up as the sun set and Round Two winners were decided. It ended with two wins each for the Senior drivers – Daniel Formal (Pro Shifter), Joe Turney (Pro X30) and Frankie Mossman (KA100 Senior).

EKN Exclusive: Superkarts! USA SuperNationals 27 – Preview Series – Pro Shifter

The true headline category for all 27 editions of the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals is the top level shifterkart division. It all began in 1997 on the outskirts of Las Vegas at the Race Kart City USA circuit where the first SuperNationals took place and Alex Barron was the first name etched in the long line of winners. Careers have been launched, defined, and put into legendary status with a victory on SuperSunday. Pro Shifter reached international status in the mid-2000s when the European factories first sent over their official drivers. Since that time, six different nations have claimed a headline victory and the big pay day in Vegas. Another stacked field of both North America’s best and international superstars is set to battle for a 27th time when we arrive this coming week. Who will it be that wins the $10,000 payday?

Defending race winner Daniel Formal will not be in Las Vegas to take a shot at earning a record-setting fifth SuperNationals triumph as the Costa Rican is competing at the Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals event in Andalusia, Spain. Read full story at eKartingNews.com

ProKart Challenge Opens 2025 with Double Round Weekend at K1 Circuit

The first event of the 2025 ProKart Challenge program was held on the February 28-March 2 weekend at the new K1 Circuit. The Winchester, California facility welcomed the Superkarts! USA regional program for a third time since opening its doors in August 2024. Rounds One and Two of the 2025 championship program kicked off with perfect racing weather to begin the 21st season for the series.

The sold out Formula Works KA100 Senior class welcomed 52 drivers around the 1-mile circuit. They were led by veterans Jake Drew and Oliver Calvo in the opening qualifying session on Saturday, with the two separated by only 30 thousandths. It was Drew’s 1:02.994 lap that was best in the session. Drew and Calvo were shuffled back at the start of the Prefinal, allowing Jackson Menchu to show the way. He would get overtaken by former SuperNationals winner Zachary Claman Demelo and Shea Aldrich to finish 1-2 at the end of the Prefinal and lead the field to the green flag for the Final. The two exchanged the top spot several times over the first half of the race until 2024 series champion Keagan Kaminski worked his way up into the battle. He grabbed the lead on lap 10. Kaminski continued leading over Claman Demelo and Calvo until the two challengers were involved in an incident. Claman Demelo retired while Calvo fell outside the top 10. Senior rookie Johnie Stamps became the new challenger for Kaminski as they fought to the checkered flag. At the line, it was Kaminski taking the victory ahead of Stamps and Menchu. Josh Campbell was fourth with Theo Kekati in fifth.
