Superkarts! USA is pleased to announce this year’s inductees to the SKUSA Hall of Fame. Veteran driver and multi-time SuperNationals winner Bonnier Moulton and long-time SKUSA official and Regional Director Terry Riggins will join the Hall of Fame in the second year of program. Last year, in conjunction with the 20th running of the SuperNationals, SKUSA named its first induction class, which included founder Don Janowski, former president Jim Murley, veteran driver Alan Rudolph and team owner Greg Bell.

“When you look at the 25-year history of Superkarts! USA, there’s a very small group of people who have been involved with the organization for over 20 years,” offered Tom Kutscher, SKUSA CEO. “Bonnier was a player from the very beginning of the ProMoto Tour. He’s raced in every SuperNationals and is part of a short list of three-time winners. Terry is part of SKUSA’s foundation and has played pretty much every role within the organization from driver to race director to regional promoter. These guys are ‘legend’ material when it comes to SKUSA history.”

Superkarts! USA has confirmed its class structure for the 2018 Pro Tour, which will continue to feature the Stock Honda and IAME categories (Photo: On Track Promotions - otp.ca)
With the sport in a continuing phase of evolution, Superkarts! USA has its eye focused on providing as much stability as possible for its customers. SKUSA’s move to the IAME product line for the single-speed classes have done just that, solidifying that segment of their program. Heading into the 2018 season, SKUSA would like to confirm that all five IAME categories will be back on the Pro Tour. For the coming season, they will be joined for the ninth straight year by the Stock Honda as the gearbox engine of choice. The primary adjustment will be a move to a pair of combined Stock Honda classes for the Pro Tour – Pro Shifter and Master Shifter – matching the approach that will be used in the inaugural SKUSA Winter Series in January and February. For 2018, S1 Pro and S2 Semi-Pro will be combined in favor of a single Pro Shifter class. S4 Master and S4 Super Master will race together as Master Shifter, but will be scored separately and will celebrate post-race with their own podium presentations.

The SKUSA Florida Winter Series will make its debut in January, and will provide competition for racers with Stock Honda, IAME and Briggs machinery (Photo: On Track Promotions - otp.ca)
Having officially announced the formation and dates for their new Florida Winter Series back in June, Superkarts! USA is excited to confirm the venues and class structure for the two-weekend schedule. The season will begin on January 12-14 at AMR Homestead-Miami Motorplex and will cap at Ocala Grand Prix on February 9-11. The series will feature four full days of racing over the two weekends, with Saturday and Sunday main events at both Homestead and Ocala. The series will feature Stock Honda and IAME categories, in addition to a local option Briggs 206 Senior class.
“It’s really exciting for all of us at Superkarts! USA to return the SKUSA name to winter competition in Florida,” admitted Tom Kutscher, Superkarts! USA CEO. “Don Janowski and Jim Murley launched the first Florida Winter Tour in 1998 before handing over the reigns over to Bill Wright, so this new expansion of our national program is taking SKUSA back to its roots. That’s exciting. We’re pleased to be able to work with the ownership groups at both Homestead and Ocala for our maiden voyage in Florida, and I’m certain that the series will become a cornerstone of our national program. I’m happy that this series will provide our East Coast customers with the opportunity to run two additional SKUSA races in 2018, ahead of the three Pro Tour events.”
