RACE ENTRY

Pre-Entry – Enter Before the Cut-Off and Save!
The definition of a “PRE-ENTRY” is an entry received, with payment, at the ProKart Challenge office before midnight on the Monday prior to the event, and will qualify for the pre-entry pricing. Entries after this cut-off will have to be submitted at the event (starting Thursday afternoon 3-6pm, or Friday morning starting at 7:00am) at walk-up pricing.  See pricing below.  All race pre-entries will be confirmed via email within 2 business day of receipt at the PKC/SKUSA home office.  If you do not receive an email confirmation within 48 hours, please call 951-491-0808 to confirm that your entry has been received and is in process.

Pre-Entry closes at Midnight on Monday, May 29th, Anyone wanting to register for the race or Friday's practice after that time will have to sign-up at the track on Thursday, 3-6pm, Friday or Saturday starting at 6:30am. 

Capped Entries - Enter Early - Don’t Miss Out!
All classes will have a maximum amount of 40 entries per race.  Entries received after a particular class is filled will be placed on a waiting list and held pending cancellation openings.  Entrants will be notified directly of any change in status or availability and offered entry on a first paid, first served basis

ALL CLASSES (active SKUSA membership required for race days):
  • $75 Practice Day
  • $125 Pre-Entry Race Fees
  • $160 Post-Entry / At Track Race Fees
  • $20 Transponder Rental ( If you don't have your own )
  • $222+tax per set Evinco-M ‘Red’ practice or race tires (for all classes except Mini/Micro Swift). These tires may be re-used from event to event. Practice or race tires for Mini/Micro Swift (Evinco-H ‘Blue’) are $211+tax. All tires can be picked up at the track or shipped ahead of time for $10 Shipping and Handling (within CA) or $15 (outside CA).
    Note: Race Tires MUST have the special PKC stamp to pass tech.
  • $100 SKUSA Annual Membership (must be current member)

  • Overnight Camping - Please see the Pit Spot Reservations Page
  • $15 for 1-day or $25 for 2-day spectator passes for all guests, including mechanics (purchased ahead of time or at the track at the same price, 5 years old and under are No Charge)
  • NOTE: SKUSA’s Spec Fuel (C12 for all classes) and Spec Oil (Motul 2T Grand Prix) are mandatory at this event, but are not available to purchase from PKC/SKUSA. Please make arrangements to get some from your local kart shop or team for this event.

Be sure to check the Classes section of this site or sections 15.3 and 20.1.2 of the SKUSA Rulebook for minimum age requirements of each class.

The easiest way to arrive at Auto Club Speedway is by taking I-10 to the Cherry Avenue exit, then traveling north 1 mile. Turn left into Auto Club Speedway Gate 1. Once past the gate, veer to the left and follow the signs for Kart Track.

Rules Regarding Motorized and Non-Motorized Vehicles at this Event
According to Speedway rules, there are NO motorized vehicles (i.e., golf carts, pit bikes, scooters) allowed on the premises for this event. In addition, due to the number of attendees expected, PKC/SKUSA is not allowing non-motorized vehicles moving in the pits during move-in, move-out, or while karts are moving on track. The only exceptions will be engine builders, SKUSA staff, and handicapped individuals with an official placard or doctor’s notice. See Patti in Registration for a special pass (which must be attached in plain sight to avoid confiscation of the prohibited vehicles until the conclusion of the event).

Pit/Paddock Rules:

  • Tires and fuel cans CANNOT be put into trash containers on site. Please take ALL tires and fuel cans with you. Monetary fines will apply for violators.
  • Clean up your pit thoroughly upon move-out – including cable ties, cigarette butts, all trash, all spills. Fines will be charged for excessive trash clean up and fuel/oil spills.
  • All pits must have a fire extinguisher – one for every 400SF of pit area (min 5lbs, type ABC) – that is visible and accessible at all times. SKUSA rules also require a 20-lb fire extinguisher for each trailer over 20-ft in length.
  • No staking of tents into the asphalt; no fuel spills on the asphalt.

General Pit Information

  • Pit move-in will be 9am to 6pm on Thursday 6/1 (no on-track practice this day), and early-bird Registration check-in will be 3pm-6pm.
  • Kart Track gates open at 7:00am on Friday and 6:30am on Saturday. 
  • Pit Curfew will be 7:00pm each night for all who are not camping on site.
  • Dogs are ALLOWED again but must be on a leash at all times.
  • Reserved pit spots for LAKC races do not apply to this ProKart Challenge event, and PKC sponsors will have priority pit placement.

Spectator Tickets
1 and 2 day spectator passes are available through EventBrite and directly on the Spectator Pass page for this event. These passes include pit access, thus enriching the spectator experience through up close contact with the drivers and crew. Prices are $15 for a 1-day pass and $25 for a 2-day pass. Kids 5 and under are FREE, but everyone must sign an insurance waiver.

Reservation Instructions

Due to the size of this event and the variety of pit spot dimensions available, we will be running the Calspeed pit spot (and overnight camping) reservations similar to the way we run the Pro Tour. .  If you know EXACTLY how much space you will need for your pit spot, please fax – or email – a complete drawing to the SKUSA office ASAP. You need JavaScript enabled to view it What to include on your pit request is described below. It’s a good idea to call after you send a fax, to make sure your request was received and is complete. Our phone number is 951-491-0808. Emailed pit requests will be replied to with a confirmation upon receipt.

NOTE: The event sponsors will receive priority pit spot placement, so be sure to note on your pit request if you are a sponsor, or if you’d like information on becoming one.

Here are the items to include on your pit request drawing:
  • Full layout – with dimensions in feet – of your total pit area. PLEASE BE EXACT, AND DO NOT REQUEST MORE SPACE THAN YOU TRULY NEED. You will probably NOT be able to add space when you arrive.
  • Include where tents will go, trailers, E-Z ups, VIP area, etc.
  • Include space for trailer tongue and doors.
  • Based on the pit map at the link above, please give us your top 3 PREFERENCES for your location of a pit/camping spot.
  • Include a team name and a list of the drivers that will be pitting in the spot. NOTE: You can send your pit map when it is absolutely final; however, all drivers MUST be registered for the race before SKUSA will confirm your pit spot location. In the event that there are multiple teams in one pit area, a designated team manager/ representative must be named as the person responsible for tent and trailer placement. We will NOT park teams on site unless and until ALL trailers are present.
  • Teams that want to be pitted next to or near each other MUST submit their pit requests to SKUSA at the same time with a specific note on each drawing telling us that preference.
  • Include your contact name and best daytime contact info on your drawing (phone and email).
  • Tell us whether or not you’ll be renting a tent, bringing your own, or both. See below for vendor info.
We will be in touch to confirm each pit reservation submitted, and will secure payment with you when we have you placed on the pit map.

Camping, RV and Pit Spot Pricing

  • E-108 to E-112, W-106 to W-116, W-201 to W-215, E-201 to E-211 -- $75.00 Per Space
  • E-301 to E-511, W-301 to W-510 -- $50.00 Per Space
  • All others -- $35.00 Per Space
  • Toy Hauler camping in Pits -- add $50.00 plus price of pit space (Please add the note to your pit request that you will be camping in your pit.)
  • RV Camping spaces -- $100.00 Per Space (Please send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Spaces may not be in EXACT area as shown on map.)

  • Choura Events is the exclusive tent rental company. Please contact Howard Tabackman at 310-606-1491 for pricing and availability.
  • If you are renting a tent from Choura, please indicate so on your pit layout drawing, so that we can confirm installation.

Spectator Tickets and Will-Call

As part of an overall effort to expedite driver check-in, we have eliminated the use of "Will Call" lists, although purchasing your tickets via EventBrite below serves the same purpose. A few things will help us help you.
  • Walking up to the Registration check-in desk WITH a printed copy OR your phone open to your BAR CODE is the quickest and easiest way to get you into the event.
  • If you know the name of your MECHANIC or other attendee(s), include them on their tickets. Adding their email address will even send a copy directly to them.
  • If you don't know the name of your MECHANIC or other attendee(s), that's ok too, but you must send them a copy of their ticket, even a screenshot of the barcode via text will work.
  • We can check someone in manually, but verification could delay their entry thru the gate -- so please make every attempt to provide them with their ticket.

Parents, Guardians and Team Principles

If you need to check with in a driver for age or language reasons, you can still purchase a ticket for yourself below ahead of time or you can purchase it at Driver Registration. Purchasing them ahead of time below helps expedited check-in and keep the lines moving faster.

Pit Space Rules

  • Space reservations are on a first paid, first served basis
  • Unreserved spaces are on a first arrive, first served basis
  • All equipment must fit within your designated pit space. This includes: trailer; tents, karts, generators, pit carts, etc.
  • All vehicles (tow and otherwise) must be stored/parked in the participant parking area North of the pit area.
  • Other than rare exceptions, Motorhomes are prohibited in the main paddock and must be parked in the designated RV area. Overnight vehicles that ARE allowed in the main pit area are trailers or vehicles used to store and transport karts (i.e., toy boxes, fun movers, etc.)
    NOTE: If you are camping on-site overnight, you will need to pay a $50 camping fee, either thru the online shopping kart, or at the track on Friday night.
  • Pit space move-in starts on the Thursday afternoon prior to an event.
  • PLAN YOUR SPACE CAREFULLY — You are able to reserve a specific location(s) based on current availability.  If your space requirements subsequently change, you will be moved to the first available area that meets the new specification - which may not be anywhere near the original location. Pit space reservation priority is based on the receipt date of the location request AND payment (no payment, no reservation).
