California ProKart Challenge

Round 4 - June 3-4, 2016 – Simraceway Kart Track

RACE ENTRY

Race pre-entries may be submitted at a “packaged-price” discount through the ProKart Challenge ONLINE store. Our web-challenged friends may use our DOWNLOADABLE entry form at a slightly higher entry price.  If you have any questions, email  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it   or call 951-491-0808 for assistance.  NOTE: If this is your first transaction through the online store, you have the option of clicking on the “Create New Account” link when prompted and complete the forms presented.  Then, for subsequent transactions, just enter the login ID and password you created to retrieve your stored entry profile.  SPECIAL NOTE: Login ID and password cannot contain blank spaces.

Pre-Entry – Enter Before the Cut-Off and Save!
The definition of a “PRE-ENTRY” is an entry received, with payment, at the ProKart Challenge office before midnight on the Tuesday prior to the event, and will qualify for the pre-entry pricing.  Entries after this cut-off will have to be submitted at the event (starting Friday morning) at walk-up pricing.  See pricing below.  All race pre-entries will be confirmed via email within 2 business day of receipt at the PKC/SKUSA home office.  If you do not receive an email confirmation within 48 hours, please call 951-491-0808 to confirm that your entry has been received and is in process.

Pre-Entry closes at Midnight on Tuesday, May 31st.  Anyone wanting to register for the race or Friday's practice after that time will have to sign-up at the track on Friday starting at 7:00am or Saturday starting at 6:30am. 



Entry Fees
(NOTE: see Online store for discounted $325 pricing for entry+tires combo.) 

ALL CLASSES (active SKUSA membership required for race days):
  • $75 Practice Day
  • $125 Pre-Entry Race Fees
  • $160 Post-Entry / At Track Race Fees
  • $20 Transponder Rental ( If you don't have your own )
  • $222+tax per set Evinco-M ‘Red’ practice or race tires (for all classes except Mini/Micro Swift). These tires may be re-used from event to event. Practice or race tires for Mini/Micro Swift (Evinco-H ‘Blue’) are $211+tax. All tires can be picked up at the track or shipped ahead of time for $10 Shipping and Handling (within CA) or $15 (outside CA).
    Note: Race Tires MUST have the special PKC stamp to pass tech.
  • $75 SKUSA Annual Membership (must be current member)
  • $15 for 1-day or $20 for 2-day spectator passes for all guests, including mechanics (purchased ahead of time or at the track at the same price, 5 years old and under are No Charge)
  • NOTE: SKUSA’s Spec Fuel (C12 for all classes) and Spec Oil (Motul 2T Grand Prix) are mandatory at this event, but are not available to purchase from PKC/SKUSA. Please make arrangements to get some from your local kart shop or team for this event.
  • NOTE: THERE IS NO CHARGE THIS EVENT for Pit Spots or Overnight Camping (See VENUE INFO page for more details and the limits to camping on site)
  • No reserved pit spots – all spaces are first come-first served, starting Thursday morning, with PKC Sponsors parked first.
Driver Age
If the driver is less than 18 years old, you must fax a copy of his/her birth certificate to (951) 491-0809 with the application for a SKUSA membership/racing license. Be sure to check the Classes section of this site or sections 15.3 and 20.1.2 of the SKUSA Rulebook for minimum age requirements of each class.

Overnight Parking
Trailer parking overnight will be allowed starting Thursday morning, June 2nd, and will be at no charge. The track will be holding their own half-day of practice day on Thursday, but SKUSA will be handling pit parking. This will be done on a first come-first served basis, starting with the sponsors. Overnight Camping
Overnight camping in the pits will be allowed at no charge for this event, but only inside trailers and toy haulers. RV parking will not be available at the kart track, but will be available on the lower level of the raceway premises in lot 2. Don’t worry about reservations, just show up. Please park clean and tight – and be respectful to your neighbors. We will be sharing the premises with another large event.

Gate Hours
Front Gates to the Raceway open at 6am every day and close at 10pm every night. 
Gates to the kart track open: Thursday 7am, Friday 7 am, Saturday 6:30 am.


Pit Spaces
The pit spots at Simraceway are on a first come-first served basis, starting Thursday morning with the PKC sponsors. PKC is not charging for pit spaces at this track.

Tents/Tent Rentals
Any tent over 400 square feet must be inspected and approved by the fire department prior to any on-track activities, starting with Friday practice. See fire rules below. Catering/Food Services
A food and drink concession stand will be open during this event. Any OUTSIDE catering must be contracted thru the track’s exclusive company Levy Restaurants ((707-939-1454).

Air Boxes – Required for ALL Classes
Per Simraceway track management, air boxes are NOW REQUIRED for the stock Honda classes of S1, S2, S3, S4, and S4 Super Master. See SKUSA rule 20.3.2.2 for the specifics. All other classes already require them as part of the Technical Specifications.

Pit Parking & Pit Rules
  • All equipment must fit within your designated pit space. This includes: trailer; tents, karts, generators, pit carts, etc.
  • Clean up your pit thoroughly upon move-out – including cable ties, cigarette butts, all trash, all spills. Fines will be charged for excessive trash clean up and fuel/oil spills. Recycle all bottles and cans in the designated on-site containers.
  • All vehicles (tow and otherwise) must be stored/parked in the participant parking area.
  • Motorhomes are prohibited in the main paddock and must be parked in the designated RV area on the lower level of the raceway premises. The only exception is trailers or vehicles used to store and transport karts (i.e., toy boxes, fun movers, etc.)
  • Pets are allowed in the pits. However, they must be on leash at all times.
  • Pit space move-in starts on the Thursday prior to the event. Any vehicles, trailer or tents left in the pits Wednesday night will be removed and/or towed prior to Thursday morning move-in.
  • NO kart motors are allowed to run before 8am and after 6pm. See the TENTATIVE EVENT SCHEDULE for the Friday practice day and Saturday race day plan.
  • NO non-motorized pit vehicles of any kind -- scooters, bikes, skateboards -- are allowed on the premises.
  • NO motorized pit vehicles of any kind are allowed to be operated by drivers under the age of sixteen and/or without a valid driver’s license.
  • NO wood or charcoal BBQs are allowed. Propane grills only.
  • Keep all aisles and fire lanes clear at all times.
  • Pit off the paved areas.
  • Each pit must have (and use) a minimum 3'x5' ground cover to catch oil and gas spills.
  • Each pit area must have a 5lb fire extinguisher (1 for every 400sf) that is visible and easily accessible. See SKUSA Rule 10.4.1.3.1.
  • Tires and fuel cans CANNOT be left on site. Please take them with you. Monetary fines will apply for violators.
Spectator Tickets
1 and 2 day spectator passes are available through the online store and at the track throughout each event. These passes include pit access, thus enriching the spectator experience through up close contact with the drivers and crew. Prices are $15 for a 1-day pass and $20 for a 2-day pass. Kids 5 and under are FREE, but everyone must sign an insurance waiver.

NOTE: The Simraceway track staff will be holding an open practice half-day at the kart track. SKUSA (Tom Kutscher and Stan Bryniarski) will be managing pit move-in for the ProKart Challenge racers, starting with the class and event sponsors.
