| California ProKart Challenge Focused on Extreme Value in 2013 |

 Over the past eight years, Tom and Patti Kutscher have been dedicated to building their ProKart Challenge series into the most enjoyable karting series in Southern California. With a focus on providing top-notch customer service, a fun and relaxed atmosphere with incredible competition and the best value in the sport, the Kutschers have grown their initial PKC effort into a national brand under the Superkarts! USA banner – while also being the promoters of the biggest race in karting, the SKUSA SuperNationals. The opening round of their 2013 California ProKart Challenge is now just under a month away, and SKUSA is again providing the best value – period – for SoCal karters. With the lowest ‘cost per lap’ and over $70,000 in prizes on the line, the series is the most lucrative in the state.“We dropped our event entry price significantly in 2011 and have kept it there, offering a package price of just $295 for a driver entry and a set of MG race tires,” states Tom Kutscher, SKUSA President. “And with this affordable price, our racers are also getting the most track time of any club or series in California! We don’t mess around. We’ve got nine classes, but typically run just six or seven race groups, so that translates into five long sessions each day with just the one entry. With morning warm-up, qualifying, two heats and a main event, our racers are logging 65+ laps on race day. If you want to be on track, ProKart is the place to be!” With double heat races setting the grid for what is traditionally a 20-lap main, depending on the track, PKC racers enjoy loads of wheel-to-wheel action with their fellow competitors. You can look at the $295 packaged entry fee any way you want. Racers are either getting a set of MG tires for the industry standard of $212 and then paying just over $80 to race, or with the former entry fee of $115, the tires cost less than $200. With the taxes all-in, the $295 entry for the ProKart Challenge might be the best value in American karting. SKUSA’s attention to detail is evident all over their program, beginning with Friday practice, which is available for just $60. The ProKart Challenge rents the track on Friday, and provides their own corner workers as well as an on-site ambulance. The next time you’re practicing, look around for the EMT. SKUSA always focuses on providing their racers with a safe environment, and approaching practice day like a race day is just part of this dedication to their customers. When you’re deciding where to spend your hard-earned dollars on your racing program, it’s important to be aware of the differences. Superkarts! USA has again stacked the prize table for their racers each weekend – and at the season-end ProKart Challenge banquet – with a total value of over $70,000 being doled out to their racers throughout the season. The Kutscher’s popular podium raffle prizes bring a big group to each trophy presentation, as over $2,000 worth of product gets handed out at every race. Selected at random from the driver entry forms, and given only to those attending the podium celebration, PKC hands out free entries to the next race, complimentary sets of MG Tires, cans of VP Fuel, Honda CR125 top-end kits courtesy of HPD, and the ever-popular buckets of Mothers Polish products, valued at over $150 each. The total for the year usually exceeds $15,000, as it’s often hard to stop Tom from giving out more and more at each race. Honda Performance Development (HPD) has stepped up their support of karting over the past couple of years, much to the excitement of SKUSA’s Stock Moto enthusiasts, and HPD is once again providing special credit vouchers called ‘HPD Bucks’ for parts to the California ProKart Challenge series participants. Class champions in the S1, S2, S3, S4 and S5 classes will receive a $200 gift certificate, while second and third place drivers with be awarded certificates for $100 and $75, respectively. A new Honda generator will also be awarded, at random, to a PKC racer attending the season-end banquet. Returning as one of the many perks that comes with competing under the ProKart Challenge banner is the chance to earn a ticket to the Granja Viana, the hugely popular race in Brazil. This past December, PKC racers PP Mastro and Chris Fosso won their opportunity to compete in this once-in-a-lifetime event. “The trip to Brazil that Tom and Patti gave me the opportunity to be a part of was something I will never forget,” offered Fosso, who competed in S4 on the California ProKart Challenge circuit in 2012. “Many thanks to MG Tires, the Kutschers and SKUSA, the Granja 500 rocked!” Provided courtesy of Wagner Rossi of WR International and MG Tires, the prize package offered by SKUSA will once again provide two drivers with the opportunity to compete at the 2013 edition of the event, all expenses paid. Individual programs like this are worth $15,000. The two trips will be awarded by random blind draw at the season-end banquet from a hat containing the names of the S1, S2 and TaG Senior drivers who competed in all six PKC races in 2013. The winners must be present at the banquet to collect their Granja ticket. Once again, the TaG Cadet champion of the California ProKart Challenge will earn an invite to compete at the Rok Cup International Final in Italy – with expenses such as race entry, kart and engine rental, tires, and hotel included. Flight costs are the only expenses that the winner will be required to cover. Also offered again for 2013, an additional Cadet driver will be selected at-large from the racers that attend the banquet, and that name will come from a random blind draw from the group of drivers who have competed in all six PKC races. SKUSA SuperNationals XVII Priority Pre-Entry ProgramSuperkarts! USA will once again be implementing a program that provides SKUSA Pro Tour and ProKart Challenge regional racers with an exclusive opportunity to reserve their chance to be part of the SuperNationals experience. While the exact pre-entry time window and sign-up procedures are still being finalized, racers who run the first four California ProKart Challenge events – or the Pro Tour series leading up to the opening of SuperNats registration – can likely expect to have a two-week opportunity in which to enter the SuperNationals before registration opens to the public. The bottom line is that racers who fully support their regional ProKart Challenge championships (or the SKUSA Pro Tour) will be guaranteed an opportunity to enter the race this November.Guaranteed SuperSunday Starting PositionSKUSA is once again offering up an amazing prize for its PKC champions on which you simply cannot put a value. The Guaranteed SuperSunday Starting Position with once again be in effect for the ProKart Challenge class champions in 2013. Regardless of their performances in the heat races or Last Chance Qualifier, each PKC champion running in their respective class in Vegas will gain a starting spot at the tail end of the grid for the main event. Considering time and financial investment in competing at the SuperNationals, combined with the opportunity for issues on such a challenging temporary circuit, this ‘get out of jail free card’ is worth its weight in gold.The 2013 California ProKart Challenge season opener is now just over three weeks away, and the competition is expected to be tremendous across the board – thanks to drivers graduating to new classes up and down the SKUSA ladder system. The first race is set for February 1-2 at Buttonwillow Raceway Park in Buttonwillow, CA. Superkarts! Drivers should be reminded that membership renewals and new license approvals should be submitted before the opening round of the PKC, as do any license upgrade applications.
