The 16th season for the ProKart Challenge is set to conclude this weekend at the Buttonwillow Raceway Park. The 2020 championship chase began at the Buttonwillow, California facility at the end of February, before COVID-19 sent the series, the entire country, and the world into what has been a unique and very challenging year. The series finale is scheduled for September 26-27, contesting the 3/4-mile course in the counter-clockwise direction.
The two-day event allows for move-in beginning Friday, September 25. On-track action begins on Saturday, September 26 with five rounds of practice before qualifying wraps up the day for the eight race groups. Sunday, September 27 begins with warm-ups preamble the Prefinal and Finals to be contested and decide the 2020 ProKart Challenge champions.
Billy Musgrave has a chance to lock up another PKC championship in Pro Shifter. Musgrave leads by 160 points over Robert Heck Jr. going into the finale, and is looking to earn his seventh title in eight years for the headline shifterkart category. Three wins and two runner-up finishes have Vicente Salas locking up the Pro Shifter 2 title before the final round. Kailey Meris will attempt to extend her win streak to six in the S5 Junior Stock Moto division. Meris has swept the action on-track except for one qualifying session in the five rounds, locking up the series championship early. The fight in Shifter Senior is close, as four-time winner Jacob Yesnick has a 30-point advantage over Round Three winner Luca Bortone going into the championship finale.

Superkarts! USA today announced a joint partnership between Rysa Racing, South Florida Karting Club, and AMR Motorplex aimed squarely at helping LO206 racers for the upcoming SKUSA Winter Series. In an effort to promote grassroots competition and newcomers to the sport, the three have combined efforts to offer a promotional pricing entry structure for the second annual championship in Florida.
“We recognize the value LO206 represents to the sport as a whole,” commented SKUSA’s Tom Kutscher. “Getting people in seats is paramount to the long-term vision and we have found some amazing partners to offset the entry fees to make racing at the Winter Series as inexpensive as possible.”
The $450 Senior and Master entry fee for LO206 is nearly $500 less than the comparable IAME classes, and still includes Friday practice, Saturday and Sunday races, and one set of Evinco race tires.

The X30 Senior category is the first half of the headline categories at Superkarts! USA SuperNationals 25. The top single-speed division at the SuperNats will feature a $25,000 purse, the largest ever presented for the category. The driver to claim the top step of the podium on SuperSunday will earn a $15,000 payday for one of the largest payouts to a SuperNationals winner in the class.
SuperNationals 25 will be the 19th time a Senior level ‘TaG’ category has been offered at the Las Vegas event for the organization. The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino welcomed TaG Senior in 2003, and the category stuck with the ‘Touch & Go’ craze building from there on. It was in 2008 in the first return to the Rio after running three years at Sam Boyd Stadium that TaG Senior welcomed its largest field at 95 drivers. The 2022 edition will feature a sold out 87 driver field competing for the big prize package, and name etched in history. Read full story on eKartingNews.com |

The unique and grueling grind of the 2020 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour ended on Sunday with the sixth and final round of competition contested at the New Castle Motorsports Park. The karting circus that began on August 6 in New Castle, Indiana came to a close with teams and competitors leaving during the evening hours. The day began with a humid overcast but northernly winds helped to push them away to sunny skies and much more comfortable temperatures then any of the previous rounds. On track, drivers left it all out on the track in hopes of moving themselves onto the championship podium, or to grab their best result of the 10-day marathon. Read full story on eKartingNews.com |

Superkarts! USA today confirmed long awaited details for their second annual SKUSA Winter Series. The action kicks off the second weekend of 2019 — January 11-13, at AMR Homestead Miami Motorplex presented by MG Tires. The four-race championship will not only begin there, but in a twist of exciting news… end there as well.
“After weighing our options for venues, we were hard pressed finding a better location than Miami,” explained SKUSA’s Tom Kutscher. “The destination is second to none and a great deal of our contingent are fond of the surrounding locations.”
The twist however, is that the second event slated for February 8-10 will see the circuit ran in clockwise configuration (e.g. backwards) providing a different driving experience for Winter Series racers. “Homestead is a circuit with tremendous history,” added Kutscher. “Some of the biggest championship years in Florida have come on the heels of multiple events having been run there. The demand for racing in Homestead is by far the greatest of all the tracks in the area.”
