A second win on the season for Jake Drew in KA100 Senior (Photo: Sector 5 Media) The third round of the Superkarts! USA ProKart Challenge was held at the Sonoma Raceway over the May 23-24 weekend. Over 150 entries celebrated the Memorial Day weekend at the Sonoma, California facility, reaching the halfway point of the SKUSA regional championship program. Beautiful weather greeted the drivers over the two days of racing in the 11 categories.KA100 Senior presented by Hayner Racing Team reached 40 drivers on the weekend, led early by Stephen Eisert. A 48.504 lap edged out Chase Hand and Round One winner Jake Drew with only 97 thousandths separating their lap times. Drew took the lead early in the Prefinal before Eisert reclaimed the spot on lap four. He led the rest of the distance to take the win over Drew, with Round Two winner Matthew Cagle up to third. The three were among the contenders at the start of the Final, along with Hand, who climbed to the lead by lap three. Cagle was part of the fight until getting shuffled down the order after the halfway point of the 22-lap event. Hand continued leading until the final lap when Drew was able to go from third to first, winning the drag race to the checkered flag by 15 thousandths. Hand settled for second with Eisert a close third. Jackson Gibson and Archer Eversman completed the top five. Kyle Wick swept the action in Pro Shifter for his first win on the year (Photo: Sector 5 Media) In his season debut, Kyle Wick was able to sweep the action in Pro Shifter presented by Axis Kartsport. Wick put down a lap of 42.981 to beat out Round One winner Billy Musgrave for fast time. Wick led all 12 laps of the Prefinal with Musgrave on his bumper. The opening two laps of the Final were paced by Wick before Musgrave took over. Musgrave led to lap 16 until retiring from the race. This handed Wick the lead and the victory, taking the checkered flag ahead of Michael Avansino. Jacob Gulick recorded his first podium of the season in third, with Anthony Freese in fourth and Ethan Booher placing fifth.The KA100 Junior class presented by Nash Motorsportz increased in numbers to 26 drivers in Sonoma, led by Cole Anderson after qualifying. Only 72 thousandths separated his time of 49.165 and those by Alejandro Gonzalez and Diesel Biezonsky. Anderson led the first three laps of the Prefinal until Mateo Calderon charged forward. Calderon led the remainder of the race for the win, with Sebastian Hauser up to second – as Anderson fell to eighth late in the session. The fight for the victory in the Final featured four drivers. Calderon led early before Biezonsky took the point. Braydon Wagner took the lead at the halfway point before Anderson charged to the front two laps later. Anderson led until Biezonsky took the lead prior to the white flag. On the final circuit, Calderon went from third to first, taking the victory to become the third different winner on the season. Biezonsky was second with Wagner completing the podium. Daniel Ramirez and Johnny Congistre completed the top five. Setting fast time of 50.207 in qualifying, Casner went on to win the Prefinal. Casner was challenged in the Final by Joshua Daley. Late in the race, Daley took the lead only to have Casner reclaim the position. Casner led the final two laps to secure his first victory of the season. Daley settled for second, with Blake Lawrence winning the fight for third over Tim Meyer and Chad Wallace.The FZ125 Senior division presented by P1 Engines Inc. welcomed a third different winner on the season. Last year’s Junior champion Erik Doan set fast time in qualifying ahead of Round One winner Theo Kekati. The Prefinal saw Kekati lead all but one lap, when he and Doan came together to end their race short. This allowed Xander Malatesta to earn the race win. For the Final, Doan was able to charge from the back of the field up into the lead by lap nine. From there, he showed the way for the rest of the distance to claim the victory. Malatesta held off Kekati for the runner-up spot, with Mathias Coito in fourth and Mason Mitchell in fifth. A sweep in KA100 Master by Ryan Casner (Photo: Sector 5 Media) James Skyers was able to keep the win streak continuing in FZ125 Master presented by Precision Works Racing. It was a sweep of the action, setting fast time in qualifying before winning the Prefinal and Final. Larry Hernandez Jr. and Stefan Maike completed the podium. Kevin Woods became the third different winner on the year in Master Shifter presented by Leading Edge Motorsports. Woods was able to sweep the action as well, going wire-to-wire in the main event. Scott Chaffeur was second with Marcin Kloda in third.It is three straight wins to begin 2026 for Jude Sack in the FZ85 Junior category presented by West Coast Motorsports. After setting the fast time in qualifying, Jude retired after one lap in the Prefinal. This allowed Diesel Biezonsky to earn the Prefinal win. After Biezonsky led the first nine laps of the Final, Jude was able to reclaim the top position after starting from the back. The two exchanged the lead multiple times before Jude secured the lead and the victory. Biezonsky settled for second with Dante Rodrigues in the third position. Asher Biezonsky celebrated a second straight victory in FZ65 Mini Shifter presented by Empire Karts. After Cole Harris secured fast time in qualifying, Biezonsky took over. Winning the Prefinal, Biezonsky led all 22 laps of the Final for the victory. Harris and Tyler Wade retired after fighting for second with two laps remaining, allowing Kyle Wade and Leland Daignault to stand on the podium. Chase Riddering was able to edge out the field by 44 thousandths in qualifying. Lucas Tarango was second with Maddax Carlucci in fourth. It was Carlucci that came through with a last lap win in the Prefinal to lead the field to the green flag ahead of Tarango and Riddering. After Carlucci led the first four laps, Tarango and Benjamin Tavi fought for the top spot. A last lap pass for Tarango secured him the victory, winning by only 59 thousandths at the line ahead of Carlucci. Tavi slipped to third on the final circuit ahead of Riddering and Round Two winner Matthew Paciulli.Benjamin Monroy was able to hold off double race winner Carson Bishop to score the victory in Micro Swift presented by Parazinho Chassis Jig. The weekend began with Braxton Shiflett setting fast time in qualifying, edging out Bishop. Shiflett led all but the final lap in the Prefinal as Monroy won the race to the line for the win by only 37 thousandths. Shiflett was in the hunt during the first half of the Final until he was shuffled down the order. This allowed Monroy to take control, leading the rest of the distance for the victory. Bishop was second in the order ahead of Dan Duculescu. Michael Dean and Lucas Freitas Melo completed the top five.
