 Ever since April and the wildly-exciting and controversial SpringNats, teams and drivers have been preparing for the second stop of the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour – the SummerNationals. The mid-July weekend has finally arrived, and over 200 drivers will converge on Grand Junction Motor Speedway in Western Colorado to compete in the third and fourth rounds of the 2013 championship. This weekend will test the strength and endurance of the drivers in the four Stock Moto and four TaG categories, as they face off against a challenging 9/10-mile course in the high altitude of the Rocky Mountains, all while keeping hydrated under the extreme temperatures that are forecasted for the weekend. The cash purse has been set at $5,000 for the weekend, with the two headline categories – S1 Pro Stock Moto and TaG Senior – competing for $1,750 each, while S2 Semi-Pro and TaG Cadet will be racing for a nice cool $1,000 to the podium finishes after reaching the 30-entry mark.
EKN will be onsite throughout the weekend, providing the ‘Trackside Live’ coverage for those unable to attend. Rob Howden – publisher of EKN and the official voice of SKUSA – will provide the race call all weekend, streamed to your laptop or mobile devices at www.eknclassic.com/live. This Sunday, July 14th at midnight PDT is the deadline for race pre-entries for the Pro Tour SummerNationals in Grand Junction. After Sunday night's cutoff, registration at the track will be a flat $500, not including any race products (like fuel and tires). Register now at http://www.skusastore.com/product-p/protour-entry-sumr13.htm, and don't forget your SKUSA membership if it is not current for this event!

 The fourth season of the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour is becoming one of historic proportions, thanks to the unparalleled 2013 prize package and record numbers that were attracted for the opening round event, the SpringNationals in Tucson, Arizona back in April. The series has enjoyed incredible momentum since its debut in 2010, and this year has followed the upward trend. The program continues with its 2013 schedule next week, when the popular Grand Junction Motor Speedway will host the SummerNationals. The July 19-21 event marks the second occasion on which the challenging 9/10-mile circuit in Grand Junction, Colorado will welcome the SKUSA Pro Tour competitors, and another record number of racers are expected to take part in the battle – especially considering the fact that the paddock needed to be physically enlarged to fit in all of the pit spot requests.
“It’s another exciting few weeks for Superkarts! USA,” stated SKUSA president Tom Kutscher. “We set an entry record for Rocky Mountain ProKart Challenge this past weekend in Colorado, as many people made the trip to warm up for the Pro Tour race. The event was the largest for the state this year, and we are hoping for another record turnout for the SummerNationals. Grand Junction is really a great place to visit and the facility is perfect for our Pro Tour program. The track is challenging, technical and fast, and the Cook family always goes out of their way to work with us to make sure things are perfect! The number of shifterkarts in attendance at the regional race was awesome to see, and we expect the TaG competitors to be there in full force for next weekend, as well.”

 A record-breaking SpringNationals event in April is leading to big expectations for the upcoming Superkarts! USA Pro Tour SummerNationals. The fourth annual event returns to the Grand Junction Motor Speedway in western Colorado on the July 19-21 weekend. The first stop of the 2013 Pro Tour program welcomed a record 227 entries to the event in Tucson, marking the first time a non-SuperNationals event eclipsed the 200-mark. The previous was set at the SummerNationals held last year in Utah. Teams and drivers are now preparing for the challenging 9/10-mile Grand Junction circuit that hosted the SummerNats in 2011.
“We were thrilled with the numbers at the SpringNationals, and are very much looking forward to our trip to Grand Junction for the next two rounds,” stated Superkarts! USA CEO Tom Kutscher. “The last two Pro Tour race weekends have been our biggest to date, and I believe this next one could be even bigger. There is no other reason to come to Grand Junction, other than to race one of the smoothest and most-enjoyable tracks in the United States. We will continue with our positive and fun-filled SKUSA atmosphere, with a possible endurance race in the rental karts Thursday night, followed by a complimentary dinner Friday night before things get serious on Saturday and Sunday. Anyone would be crazy if they were to miss out on this event.”
