After months of development and fine tuning, IAME USA West today confirmed the initial shipment of the long awaited IAME SSE. The first units are expected to arrive in the United States as early as next week. Orders will begin immediate fulfillment in the order they were received, with boxes leaving the IAME USA West headquarters as quickly as they come in.
“It’s been a long time coming,” remarked IAME USA West and SKUSA principal Tom Kutscher. “If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me when the new engine would be here, I’d be a wealthy man. The demand for this thing is unreal and I couldn’t be more excited to finally have it here.”

SuperKarts! USA often takes feedback and needs of our competitors to adjust our class structure to fairly accommodate a growing population of drivers. To further advance participation in the KA100 Master class, we will allow drivers with a racing age of 21+ years old, ONLY if their weight in racing gear is at least 200 lbs. These drivers will also have to race at a total weight of 400 lbs, which is 10 lbs heavier than drivers 30+ years old. We welcome any feedback on these changes and we reserve the right to adjust them as warranted. These changes will start with the SKUSA Winter Series in Florida. |

While the potential for rain was in the forecast throughout the weekend at the Utah Motorsports Campus for this year’s Superkarts! USA Pro Tour SpringNationals, the wet stuff didn’t arrive until the second half of the KA100 Senior main event on Sunday, and even then, not in enough quantity to bring the race to a halt. After a short lightning break as the small storm cell passed through, the Mini Swift drivers took to a damp track, and the decision to go with slicks or wets made things intriguing. More on that later. Overall, the day’s racing was ultra-aggressive once again, and even the drivers commented on the poor racecraft in post-race interviews. Despite this aggression, or maybe because of it, the racing in the headline X30 Senior and Pro Shifter categories was edge-of-your-seat type of stuff.
In the Pro Shifter class, GFC Karting’s Jacob Gulick (GFC) backed up his breakout win on Saturday to score another triumph over the stacked field of gearbox racers, having to come back from a tough start that dropped him to third. The X30 Senior race was as wild as expected, and with six drivers in the hunt, J3 Competition’s Oliver Hodgson (CompKart) emerged from the inferno to score his first major national SKUSA victory in the United States. The day also saw new winners, as eight categories battled for wins in Round Four of the SKUSA Pro Tour.

The second half of the championship chase begins in Adams, featuring a number of tight point standings heading into the next two rounds. Texas driver and two-time winner John Burke remains at the top of the HRT Driver Development KA100 Senior standings. Two-time top qualifier Shea Aldrich is second, back by 154 points with Payton Westcott sitting third in the chase.
