ProKart Challenge Programs Announce Discounted Entry Package
Thursday, 06 January 2011 10:03
As we enter the new year, the Superkarts! USA staff is back at work and gearing up for the 2011 season, one that will certainly be the biggest in the organization’s history. SKUSA is focused on building off a solid 2010 campaign, and will once again promote official competition on both the regional and national level. Interest is huge – thanks to the massive success of the 14th annual SuperNationals in Las Vegas – and big increases in support and participation are expected in both the ProKart Challenge series and the second running of the SKUSA Pro Tour. One of the primary goals for 2011 is to make the PKC program the best value in California.

The organization is vocal in its dedication to providing the best karting experience in California through their ProKart Challenge North and South programs, and a significant decrease in the entry fee package is the primary promotion. The schedules will be very exciting this year, taking the PKC competitors to a number of tracks that have not been part of the series in the past. The PKC South and PKC North calendars will feature six races, each of which includes the popular West Coast Shootout at Santa Maria in late August. The PKC North program will venture away from Infineon Raceway for the first time to visit cornerstone NorCal tracks like Dixon, Prairie City, Reno and Atwater, as well as a venue in Monterey. The South circuit will follow suit, making its debut at Adams Raceway in Riverside, while also heading back to Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, Buttonwillow Raceway and both the Streets of Willow and purpose-built kart track at Willow Springs.

Inaugural Superkarts! USA Pro Tour Champions Decided
Wednesday, 08 December 2010 10:23
With the running of the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals XIV last month in Las Vegas, the inaugural season of the SKUSA Pro Tour came to a close in dramatic fashion. Outside the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, a record-breaking crowd of nearly 500 racers competed for five-days – with the nine championship categories closing out the final step in the chase for the title. The top-three drivers in the final standings -- including the champions – have won the rights to the coveted national number throughout the 2011 season. And for a select few, SKUSA and its series partners offered up a number of contingency programs to further add to the series prize purse.

“The first year of the SKUSA Pro Tour was a successful season,” commented Tom Kutscher of Superkarts! USA. “I can’t thank all of the drivers, teams and series supporters enough for making this inaugural season what it was.”

Superkarts! USA Confirms 2011 ProKart Challenge Schedules
Wednesday, 01 December 2010 09:29
When the dust finally settled at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino after the record-breaking Superkarts! USA SuperNationals XIV, completing the organization’s 2010 season, the focus immediately turned to the upcoming 2011 calendar year. Prior to the Las Vegas event, the locations for next year’s SKUSA Pro Tour were released to the public, throwing fuel on the fire of excitement that blazed throughout SuperNats week. And now, the dates and facilities for the flagship regional programs for California are ready for release as well. The ProKart Challenge South is entering season #7 while the ProKart Challenge North is now into its fourth round – with both programs making notable changes for the upcoming year.

The two programs will feature similar formats – six races within the championship – counting the best five results. PKC South will return to the Willow Springs Kart Track, Streets of Willow road course, and Buttonwillow circuits, and will also bring back the temporary circuit outside Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego to the schedule. New for 2011 will be the running of the season opener at the historic Adams Motorsports Park in Riverside. The PKC North schedule will venture outside its former home facility in Sonoma to now feature five new tracks on the circuit. The famed facilities in Dixon, Prairie City, Monterey, Atwater and Reno, Nevada will join the PKC North program this year. For a third straight year, the two series will meet at the growing PKC West Coast Shootout to match South vs. North in Santa Maria, the same facility that hosted the 2010 event.

2011 Pro Tour Venue Update
Monday, 29 November 2010 17:31
SKUSA released the schedule for the second edition of the program back in early September and can now confirm the venues that will play host to the SpringNationals and SummerNationals. The program’s top pilots will kick things off at the amazing P1 Kart Circuit in Tucson, Arizona in late April during the SpringNats and will then head to Grand Junction Motor Speedway for the SummerNats in mid-July. Of course, the Pro Tour will wrap up in Las Vegas, Nevada for the historic 15th running of the wildly-popular SuperNationals.

“We’ve been working on the 2011 schedule and the venues for a couple of months, and in the end, our focus centered on bringing our program to new regions of the country so that we could both grow the Superkarts! USA brand and support the racers who are part of the SKUSA community,” offers Tom Kutscher, the organization’s leader. “Last year, we were in Northern California and Wisconsin to support the Pro Kart Challenge North and Central States Challenge programs. This time around, I wanted to get into Colorado for the SummerNationals to show our appreciation to the racers who are part of our Mountain Region. Our decision to start the season in Tucson was helped by the fact that it’s centrally located to make the trip manageable for drivers from California, Texas, Oklahoma, Utah and Colorado. The fact that both venues are incredible tracks is the icing on the cake!”
