Superkarts! USA Announces Partnership with Oakley for 2008 and Beyond
Thursday, 24 July 2008 20:49
Superkarts! USA has announced an official partnership with Oakley Inc., a worldwide leader in optical, eyewear, and sport driven apparel. The partnership underscores Oakley’s foray into kart racing and precedes the official release of Oakley’s line of karting specific driving apparel.

The partnership will see featured Oakley involvement throughout the SKUSA regional and national programs in the form of podium prizes and promotional pricing for all SKUSA members. The Foothill Ranch based company has also pledged a large commitment to the crown jewel in North American karting: The annual SKUSA SuperNationals.

“Having Oakley on board is tremendous,” stated SKUSA CEO Tom Kutscher. “Their brand is synonymous with precision and excellence, and their worldwide recognition is a terrific step in elevating kart racing to the next level. It’s an honor for the SKUSA organization and an honor for karting in general.”

As part of the partnership between Oakley and SKUSA, there will be a racer-pricing program initiated for all SKUSA members. Any current member in the Superkarts! USA organization will be given an opportunity to purchase Oakley products by calling the team sales department at: (949) 900-7137. SKUSA members can mention their SKUSA membership affiliation and qualify for racer promotional pricing.

“The way Oakley has stepped up, it’s huge. But arguably the thing that has us most excited is the racer pricing program. With partnerships like these, it’s often times hard for the racer to feel the first hand effects. With something like this, SKUSA wins, Oakley wins, and most of all – the racer wins.”

Oakley has been working tirelessly to develop a cutting edge driving suit and has tapped previous SKUSA SuperNats winner and karting superstar, Gary Carlton for development purposes. This year’s SuperNationals will be no different, and Oakley will once again be on hand with a significant presence at the event. Further details and specifics will be forthcoming as official announcements are made later in the year; however, it’s an exciting beginning to a long-standing partnership.

“Oakley is stoked to be involved with SKUSA,” added Oakley’s motorsport marketing manager, Todd Hayes. “Oakley is fairly new in the karting business but supporting SKUSA’s regional events and of course the SuperNationals will be great for our company going forward.”
