Racing Format

All classes except TaG Senior will receive three individual 15-lap heat races, plus a main event. The TaG Senior format will consist of four individual 15-lap elimination heats, plus 'A' and 'B' main events.  All classes will have a 30-lap main, except HPV2 Jr, S5 Jr and TaG Jr, which will have a 25-lap main event.  The grid order for the main events will be based on points earned in the heat races.  Details follow:

Heats
  • Starting grid positions for all heats are based on original qualifying times
  • Heat scoring:  0pts-1st, 2pts-2nd, 3pts-3rd, 4pts-4th, and so on
Main - Grid by aggregate heat points (tie breaks by original qualifying time)

TaG Senior

Practice
  • Entries separated into P1, P2 and P3 practice groups at registration. These groups will be valid throughout Thursday’s practice sessions.
Qualifying
  • Based on times from the last practice session on Thursday, the fastest third of the field will be reassigned to the Q1 qualifying group, the second fastest third to the Q2 qualifying group and the balance of the field to the Q3 qualifying group.
  • In addition to qualifying, these groupings will be utilized in warmups for Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Heats
  • After qualifying, the entire field will be broken into 5 flights (A,B,C,D,E).  Top qualifier Position 1 in A, 2nd qualifier Position 1 in B, 3rd qualifier Position 1 in C, 4th qualifier Position 1 in D, 5th qualifier Position 1 in E, 6th qualifier Position 2 in A, 7th qualifier Position 2 in B and so on.
  • Four elimination heats for each flight -- A vs B, A vs C, A vs D, A vs E, B vs C, B vs D, B vs E, C vs D, C vs E, D vs E.
  • Flight assignments remain the same for all heats.
  • Starting grid positions are based on original qualifying time and heat assignments for all heats.
  • Highest flight letter is on pole for each heat.  For example, in the B vs C heat, the flight B members will be on the pole side of the grid and the flight C members on the off -pole side of the grid   
  • Heat scoring:  0pts-1st, 2pts-2nd, 3pts-3rd, 4pts-4th and so on.
'A' Main
  • Top 40 (gridded by aggregate flight heat points - tie breaks by original qualifying time) transfer directly to the 'A' Main.
 
'B' Main
  • Positions 41-80 (gridded by aggregate flight heat points - tie breaks by original qualifying time) transfer directly to the 'B' Main
