Watch here for latest updates.Since 2009 begins a new CIK chassis Homologation period, SKUSA has had many requests to allow these chassis to be used at the SuperNats. Since the International season has concluded, and the SuperNats has become the Number 1 karting event in North America, we have decided to allow the preview of these chassis at Supernats XII. To be eligible for competition, the following requirements must be met:
Rules Clarification: In light of the recent CIK sanction of the SuperPro (ICC) class, here are some general guidelines for all classes. SuperPro (ICC) Current CIK Rule Book, including rule updates, posted on this website. Aside from exceptions posted herein, if you conform to Stars of Karting ICC rules, you are OK for SuperNats XII SuperPro (ICC) class. Note that the SuperNats XII SuperPro class is not a CIK-FIA championship points event. As such, SKUSA race officials reserve the right to be lenient in rule issue resolutions where safety and/or performance are not impacted. Exceptions:
S1, G1, S3, S4, S5, TaG Senior, TaG Master 2008-2010 SKUSA Rule Book, including rule updates posted on this website. NEW RULE FOR SUPERNATS XII as of 11/11/08 Junior Classes S5 Jr, TaG Jr, HPV2 Jr: All competitors weighing 110 lbs or less with driving gear on (no helmet) must have an SFI specification 20.1 approved chest protector. Air Filters: As has been the case for the last two SuperNats, Moto engines in S1, S3, S4 and G1 have the option of airboxes or air filters. S4 age/weight certification: At registration, present your birth certificate or current driver’s license for age confirmation.
Race ID Labels: Practice, qualifying and race groups will be identified by Race ID Labels to facilitate the pre-grid and track grid process. You will not be allowed on the track without the proper Race ID Labels installed. Instructions to be given at the track. SuperPro: SuperPro entries are not eligible to enter other SKUSA classes. Sticker Policy: Failure to comply with the SuperNationals XII sticker policy will result in the forfeiture of any purse and/or prizes won by the competitor. Sticker policy to be handed out to each driver at registration. Spec Fuel and Oil: For all classes, VP MS98 (ICC, TaG, Spec Honda) or VP C12 (built motos) is the spec fuel and Motul Kart Grand Prix 2T is the spec oil. Mixing ratio is not controlled. Pre-Tech: SKUSA employs self certification to facilitate pre-tech inspection. Pre-tech form to be given to each driver at registration. Lapped Drivers: Drivers about to go down a lap on the leaders will be given the removal flag (Black Flag) and must exit the track the next time by the pit-in lane. Removed drivers will be scored based on laps finished up to the point of removal. Failure to heed the removal flag may result in penalties. Fuel Farm: The Fuel Farm will open and close each day per the published schedule. All fuel must be mixed and remain in the Fuel Farm. All re-fueling must be done in the Fuel Farm. By order of the Clark County Fire Marshall, no fuel is allowed in the pits other than in the Fuel Farm. KARTS ARE NOT TO BE STARTED IN THE FUEL FARM. Sealing and Tagging: SuperPro chassis tagging and engine sealing will be conducted at the Tech Tent from 9:00am-5:00pm Thursday. All other classes will have their engines and chassis sealed/painted after qualifying. Engines that require re-sealing shall be completed by the end of warm-up sessions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Any SuperPro motor that is not sealed is not allowed to compete and will be disqualified upon inspection. Two engines may be sealed for the event. Hot Pit: A maximum of two mechanics per current session entry are allowed in the Hot Pit. All mechanics in the Hot Pit must be wearing a visible Hot Pit wrist band or they will be required to leave. Other than on the track, the only places where a kart can be moving under its own power are (i) in the pre-grid areas, (ii) in the Hot Pit and (iii) in the exit lane leading to the scales. Karts must be pushed from pit to the pre-grids and from scales to the pit. No motorized vehicles of any kind are allowed in the pits, including cars, trucks, golf carts, motorized devices, etc. Bicycles are OK. We don’t want to detract from the on-track focus with unnecessary accidents in the pits. Persons with disabilities are excluded from this restriction and may utilize electric powered transportation devices. No Overnight Camping: To insure personal property security, no overnight camping is allowed in either the reserved or unreserved pit areas. Overnight camping must be off-site for this event. Fire Policies and Procedures: Superkarts! USA, in accordance with the Clark County Fire Department, will be distributing policies and procedures for this event in each driver registration package to help assure that everyone is in compliance with all ordinances with regards to fuel handling and storage, as well as some basic safety policies that will benefit all who attend SuperNationals XII at the RIO. Please take particular note of the fire extinguisher requirement. Additional rules and requirements regarding this specific event will be posted, distributed, and/or announced during the event. |
