Recommendation - Rear Bumper Retention
Monday, 01 August 2011 22:12
SKUSA competitors have been experiencing an increasing number of rear bumpers becoming dislodged during competition. This is not only a danger to fellow competitors, but results in the driver being black flagged off track.
The SKUSA Rulebook allows for additional retention to be used. Most of the problems seem to occur when secondary retention is not used or it is improperly installed.
SKUSA’s preferred method is the use of heavy duty (175#) tie wraps between the frame and the holes in the plastic bumper.
