KF2 comes to Norcal
Tuesday, 11 August 2009 00:00
To allow drivers to prepare for the Supernational XII,  Prokart has agreed to allow entries at the last two races on August 15 and September 12 at Infineon Raceway for the KF2 class. At the current time Felkins, Peterson, Zeen, Menezes and Hodgson have expressed interest. Any other drivers looking to complete at the event please contact Patti  at (951) 491-0808 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Per discussions with industry personnel many of the top European drivers are expected to race KF2 at the Supernationals this year.

Per Cody Hodgson,  “The KF2 package is great. With it being limited to 15,000 revs, the cost run and engine failures are way down when compared to the Leopard TAG motors we have run in years past.”

Karting Champion Hodgson Drives FJR-50
Monday, 10 August 2009 00:00
Cody Hodgson, as winner of the 2008 ProKart Challenge Northern California region, recently won a three-day school of racing from the Jim Russell Racing Drivers School at Infineon Raceway.

Hodgson, of Escalon, Calif, visited the Jim Russell Racing Drivers School in Northern California to claim his three day school of racing, where he was joined by Nicolas Rondet, Chief Driving Instructor of the three-day school. As expected, the 17 year-old greatly enjoyed getting behind the F3 equivalent spec FJR-50 used by the school, showing good speed and skill.

“The Lola-built FJR-50 car is more of what I like to race,” said Cody Hodgson. “With the high-speed aerodynamic package, I was very quick. My favorite corner was the chicane, because I was actually faster than Nicolas.”

PKC NorCal Nears End of Season with Upcoming Sixth Round
Friday, 07 August 2009 14:28
The sixth round of the Superkarts! USA ProKart Challenge North program is just around the corner, scheduled for August 15 at the Jim Russell International Karting Center in Sonoma, California. The series has been off for roughly a month, with a number of competitors looking to get back to action in hopes of building on their championship chases. As is the case with the Superkarts! USA program, the PKC North staff will throw another ‘curve ball’ at the competition – as the event will utilize the 0.68-mile ‘Reverse Sprint’ circuit for the first time in the program’s history.

The TaG Senior and TaG Master classes are providing high excitement, when looking at the standings heading into the sixth round as the tightest fights at the top. The top four in the TaG Senior category are separated by just 137 points, which can easily change in one weekend. Will Martindale currently holds the top spot over Brett Felkins by 57 points, with Larry Fraser and defending two-time feature winner Brett Buckwalter charging closer to Felkins’ point total. The TaG Masters’ fight is closer at the top between the front two drivers Steve Elo and Jim Zootis. Elo leads by just 53 markers over Zootis, who has yet to score a feature win this season. Dylan Lupton extended his championship lead in the TaG Junior category after scoring his second straight feature win back in July, holding a 148 point margin over Austin Elliott.

PKC Revises Policy for Race Entry Cancellations
Tuesday, 04 August 2009 09:50
In the past, ProKart Challenge has allowed racers who have had to cancel their race entry to rollover their paid entry fees to a future race. This has unfortunately caused many accounting and inventory challenges. Therefore, effective immediately, PKC will no longer offer the 'rollover' option. If you have a pending rollover entry, PKC office staff will be in touch shortly to allow you one final rollover -- or a refund of the applicable fees. Please click here for our new policy regarding this issue. Thanks!
