The prize structure for the 2011 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour will focus on both an attractive cash purse and extra incentives to motivate drivers to support the program by running both double-race events heading into the SuperNationals. The following list details the current Pro Tour prize package:Per Race Prize MoneyPrize money will be paid to the S1 and TaG Senior classes at the SpringNationals and SummerNationals, awarding $1750 per class to the top three drivers in the overall point standings, cumulatively, for the weekend. The total prize money paid per weekend will be $3500. The following is the cash payout for both S1 and TaG Senior:
1st - $1000 SKUSA President Tom Kutscher will present the prize money to the drivers during the Sunday afternoon podium presentations. For the SuperNationals – the final round of the Pro Tour – the purse for TaG Sr. and S1 will be increased to $5000 per class. The following is the payout for both S1 and TaG Senior:
1st - $2000 Pro Tour Points FundA championship points fund will be accumulated from race-to-race, and additional cash awards will be distributed to the top-three in the final point standings at the end of the year for both S1 and TaG Senior. A driver’s accumulated points from all five Pro Tour events will determine the final standings – after eliminating the lowest points race (ONE DROP). The breakdown of the points fund for the top five in S1 and TaG Senior is as follows:
1st - $3000 Total Points Fund Per Class - $6000 Total Overall Points Fund - $12000 SKUSA National Number PlatesSKUSA brought back the prestigious National Number Plate program in 2010, providing special number plates to the top-three drivers in the final championship points in all nine classes. Drivers must run their respective national number plates during all SKUSA Pro Tour events if they wish to be eligible for event prize money and points. The National Number Plate program will continue in 2011 and the top-three from each class will be awarded their plates at the end of the season. National Number Plates are only run if the driver remains in the class in which he or she won the plate.SKUSA Circle of Champions ProgramOne of the increases to the 2011 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour is the expansion of the ‘Circle of Champions’ program. SKUSA will be providing the 2011 Pro Tour point champions in all classes with special sponsorship for the 2012 racing season. The Pro Tour champions will be provided with complimentary entries, race tires, fuel and oil for the 2012 Pro Tour, including the SuperNationals. This package is worth approximately $2800, while the entire package adds over $25,000 to the overall prize fund. These sponsored SKUSA ‘Circle of Champions’ drivers will be required to wear the national #1 plate and a custom helmet visor strip in 2012.Additional PrizesSKUSA will actively work to assemble product from series sponsors to distribute to racers following podium presentations. A list of prizes that will be available for those attending the podium presentations will include Mothers Polish products, MG Tires and VP Fuel, as well as products from any interested providers. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .Guaranteed SuperNationals Main Event Starting PositionSKUSA will be including a very lucrative benefit to the top drivers in Pro Tour points heading into the 2011 SuperNationals. In any of the classes that will opened to 80 entries for this year’s SuperNats (such as S2, S4, TaG Senior, TaG Junior and TaG Cadet, for example) the top three drivers in Pro Tour points after the SummerNationals will be rewarded with guaranteed starting positions in the main event on SuperSunday. Should they not make the main following the heat races or the Last Chance Qualifier, they will start at the tail of the grid from 41st to 43th in the order of where they sit in the Pro Tour points.TaG Cadet Mini Rok Awards ProgramFor 2011, the TaG Cadet class champion will be awarded a partially supported trip to the 2012 ROK Cup International Final. This support package includes the event entry fee, a complete and new (OTK) chassis with engine to use for the race, tires for the race, one set of practice tires, fuel and hotel stay for the driver (four nights). Airfare is not included. This driver will be representing SKUSA on the world stage and will be provided with a SKUSA race suit to wear at the event. |
