2009-2010 Competition Rule BookCompetitors can download the 2009-2010 SuperKarts! USA competition rule book in PDF format here. All rule book amendments, changes and clarifications will be posted here. The following items were added to the rulebook on October 21, 2009
CIK Rule Book: Section 20.3.3 of the SKUSA 2008-2010 rule book states “KZ (ICC) Engine Specifications: All CIK-FIA Rules and Regulations for ICC engines, standards and their components will be enforced unless specified otherwise in this rulebook." Click here for a copy of the CIK/FIA Karting Technical Regulations. SuperNationals XIII Specific Rules and ProceduresTaG Information - Effective Sept. 15, 2009Motori Seven TAG engine clarificationsWe have had a number of questions about the PDF on Motori Seven engines; following are corrections and clarifications. Note that these corrections/clarifications reflect no changes to the engine, only corrections to the PDF.The most common issue is the pipe. The “A” dimension is listed in the PDF as 105mm. Pipes in use measure correctly in all other stated dimensions; however the “A” dimension is 115mm. I have measured 7 pipes that all measured 115mm. My conclusion is that the pipes were always incorrect according to the PDF in the “A” measurement but were the same in all other dimensions. I obtained a copy of the PDF submitted by the original Michigan-based importer in 2005 which shows the 105mm dimension to further validate this conclusion. Pictures and actual measurements taken at the TAG workgroup meeting in Chicago in 2007 on the submitted exhaust also show the dimension as 115mm. Because of this, and based on communications from the manufacturer we are changing the “A” dimension to the correct dimension of 115mm. Basically we have had a number of issues with errors on the PDF which have been corrected when discovered. In addition other recent questions that have arisen and their resolution are as follows:
John Motley, National Technical Director SuperKarts! U.S.A. Spec Tires![]() Race Tires are defined as the two (2) sets of tires purchased from SKUSA as part of the entry process and delivered at the event. Race Tires are marked with serial numbers specific to the related entry and are signed out to the participant at the event Tire Desk. For all classes, the MG Yellow Type “SKUSA-FZ” is the spec Race Tire and the only slick that can be used in qualifying, heats, LCQ’s and mains. Competition rain tires are open spec, but must be new with whiskers. A total of four (4) front and four (4) rear Race Tires may be managed at the discretion of the competitor for qualifying, heats and main. Should the Race Director declare a wet race, a maximum of two sets of “marked” rain tires may be utilized. Race Tires are NOT included in your entry fee; however, their purchase is mandatory WITH your entry registration. SKUSA is the official tire provider for the SuperNats, and two (2) sets of Race Tires (MG-FZ’s) per class must be purchased from SKUSA for delivery at the event. The Tire Desk will open and close on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday per the published schedule. Competitors are required to pick up their two (2) sets of Race Tires (slicks), any practice tires purchased from SKUSA, plus have a minimum of one (1) and a maximum of two (2) sets of participant supplied rain tires (mounted OK) marked during these time periods. Only Race Tires (slicks) received from the Tire Desk and rain tires marked by the Tire Desk are eligible for competition at this event. Any tire issues occurring after Tire Desk closure on Thursday should be reported to the SKUSA Registration Desk and they will be handled on a case by case basis. Tires used in practice and warm-up sessions are open spec – with the exception of the last practice sessions on Thursday for SuperPro’s and TaG Seniors, which will be timed for determining qualifying group order on Friday. Tires utilized in the last practice session on Thursday for SuperPro’s and TaG Seniors must be the spec MG-FZ, but it is not required that they be serialized Race Tires. Spec Fuel and Oil![]() For all classes, VP MS98 (ICC, TaG, Spec Honda) or VP C12 (built motos) is the spec fuel and Motul Kart Grand Prix 2T is the spec oil. Mixing ratio is open spec. Event entry does not include any fuel or oil, and due to current market volatility, will be available for purchase at the event only at the current market prices. Motul representatives have told us that Kart Grand Prix 2T can be run from 16:1 to 32:1, depending on application and driver preference. The richer ratios are generally reserved for high rpm, cast iron cylinder applications (example Leopards) and the leaner ratios for Nikasil cylinder applications (example Rotaxes). ICC’s and Moto’s would fall somewhere in between the two extremes.Terms And ConditionsBy submittal of an event entry application, or any purchase through this website, I agree to hold SKUSA, together with its owners, heirs, assigns, officers, representatives, agents, employees and members, harmless from all liability. This includes, but is not limited to: injury to persons, property, employees and/or reputation that may be sustained by me; from all claims of said injuries to parties listed above growing out of, or as a result of the event contemplated under the entry form; or caused by any construction or conditions of the course over which the event is held.I have reviewed the SuperNationals XIII event website at www.superkartsusa.com and understand the rules and policies contained therein.
