NOLA Pit Spot Reservations

Reserving Your Pit Spot

As always, the toughest part for the SKUSA staff in organizing large events each year is laying out and fitting everyone into the pits!

This year is no different, as our WinterNationals event at NOLA in Avondale, LA will see large numbers for this event's second running! ALL RACERS or TEAM OWNERS can do their part now by reserving the space they will need (as well as encouraging all drivers to get pre-registered for the event - before their classes cap out at 44)!

 Emailed pit requests will be replied to with a confirmation upon receipt.

The price of all pit spots are as follows
  • $.50/SF for spaces 1-49 (tent staking allowed in spots 1-15 only)
  • $.40/SF for spaces 50-109
  • $.30/SF for spaces 110-220
  • $150 per space for RV's (no hookups)
  • $50 to Camp in your Toy Hauler/Trailer. PLUS the pit space cost.
Please specify your top 3 choices for the pit spot locations you prefer (i.e., 23-27, 133-136, etc), based on the pit map posted below. We will do our best to accommodate you.

NOTE: The event & class sponsors will receive priority pit spot placement, so be sure to note on your pit request if you are a sponsor, or if you'd like information on becoming one. What to include on your pit request is described below.
  • Full layout - with dimensions in feet - of your total pit area. PLEASE BE EXACT, AND DO NOT REQUEST MORE SPACE THAN YOU TRULY NEED. You will probably NOT be able to add space when you arrive.
  • Include where tents will go, trailers, E-Z ups, VIP area, etc.
  • Include space for trailer tongue and doors.
  • Include a team name and a list of the drivers that will be pitting in the spot. NOTE: Please send your pit map when it is absolutely final. All drivers MUST be registered for the race before SKUSA will confirm your pit spot location. In the event that there are multiple teams in one pit area, a designated team manager/ representative must be named as the person responsible for tent and trailer placement. We will NOT park teams on site unless and until ALL trailers are present. Or unless the team manager is present. (Only Exception)
  • Teams that want to Guarantee they are pitted next to or near each other MUST submit their pit request as ONE COMPLETE REQUEST to SKUSA at the same time with a specific note on each drawing, initialed by person submitting the request telling us that preference. NOTE: Following this process will allow us to achieve this goal but will reduce the ability to fulfill specific requests. If this is being requested by a sponsor, the sponsor must submit the request and be responsible for the entire pit invoice.
  • Include your contact name and best daytime contact info on your drawing (phone and email).
  • Tell us whether or not you'll be renting a tent, bringing your own, or both. See below for vendor info.

We will be in touch to confirm each pit reservation submitted, and will secure payment with you when we have you placed on the pit map.

NOTE: NO passenger vehicles will be allowed in the pits, so please do not include them in your layout.

The EXCLUSIVE rental tent and rental equipment vendor for this event will be Gulf Coast Tent Rentals. Tents are approximately $1.15 per square foot and walls are $3.00 per linear foot. They can also provide tables, chairs, lights and more. NOTE: You will want to confirm your pit size and location with the SKUSA office prior to finalizing your tent rental, although it's a good idea to check tent availability, space requirements and pricing right away in order to submit the most accurate pit layout.

There is Absolutely NO Staking of tents (other than pit spaces 1-15) Gulf Coast Tent Rentals can also rent blocks to tie down your tents. Please keep in mind, these blocks are approximately 3'x3' square. These blocks must set on YOUR pit space and not in the isles or fire lanes. Please plan accordingly.

Trailer Storage

If you have a trailer that will be used for transporting karts and equipment only, and does not need to be parked inside of the pit area, there will be a $25 fee to store it in a secured outer lot of this facility. Please add that note to your pit spot request to give SKUSA advanced notice.

Schedule

Pit move-in for this event will begin on Tuesday at noon, February 27th with the big rigs and must be complete by 6pm on Thursday, March 1st.
Any racers or teams who will be participating in the club race the weekend prior MUST vacate the paddock and move their trailer at the conclusion of Sundays event. Trailers will be allowed to remain on the property, however they must be parked in the gravel at the rear of the paddock until move-in on Tuesday February 27th.
No Exceptions!

An optional practice day is being offered on Thursday starting at noon. See more info on our Venue Info and Event Schedule pages. Move out will begin Sunday night, March 4th, after the final podium presentation (approx. 6pm). All trailers will need to be out of the pits by end of day Monday, March 5th. Tent install dates: Mon-Tues, February 26-27. Tent tear down: Monday, March 5th.
