Superkarts! USA is happy to put the final piece in the puzzle that is the 2014 SKUSA Pro Tour. The opening two rounds of the series – scheduled for May 2-4 – will take teams and drivers to the Dallas Karting Complex (DKC) in Caddo Mills, Texas. Located just 45 minutes away from downtown Dallas, the DKC facility will host the first visit to the LoneStarState for the SKUSA Pro Tour.

2014 SKUSA Pro Tour logo“We’re excited to be taking the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour further east this year,” stated SKUSA President Tom Kutscher. “The group at Dallas Karting Complex is set to welcome our program and all of our SKUSA racers at the beginning of May to host one of the biggest karting events of the year. Karting in Texas has a long history, and the location in the middle of the country provides a great opportunity for racers from both coasts to meet together and battle for a SpringNationals victory.”

The first ever SpringNationals took place at the Simraceway in Sonoma, California. For the next three years, the Pro Tour opening weekend stayed in Arizona, taking place at Musselman Honda Circuit in Tucson for 2011 and 2013, with the 2012 edition held at the PKRA facility in Phoenix. The 2014 SpringNationals will be the furthest east the Pro Tour has gone since hosting the 2010 SummerNationals in Shawano, Wisconsin. It will also be a chance for the growing Texas ProKart Challenge to showcase their talents in their home state.

“The people and racers of the Texas ProKart Challenge are amazing,” continued Kutscher. “Dave Pauly and his entire staff have built a solid program in just two years, welcoming some of the biggest numbers in the country for regional racing. It’s our pleasure to be able to bring the Pro Tour to their region, and do it at one of the newest karting facilities in the country.”

The Dallas Karting Complex opened Memorial Weekend in 2011, built under the guidance of co-owners Kevin Adds and Mike Jones. The last two years have seen the facility welcome thousands of customers taking laps in their rental fleet, while expanding the in-house kart shop program into Sodi Racing USA as the official importer of the Sodi racing karts. The facility sits on a 25-acre plot that boasts an 8/10-mile, multi-configuration circuit designed specifically for karting. The main course is 30 feet wide with 18 turns, all equipped with CIK/FIA curbing. One of the great amenities at DKC is their 10,000 square foot main building. Inside holds the kart shop, meeting rooms, and the lobby area with food concessions and showroom. Right outside is an elevated viewing deck for spectators to view the action just above the pit lane.

“Kevin and I are honored and extremely excited that Dallas Karting Complex will be hosting the SKUSA SpringNationals,” stated DKC co-owner Mike Jones. “The Texas ProKart Challenge will kick off their season the weekend prior, so I’m sure we will see plenty of top ranked drivers battling in the local regional race. This will certainly be awesome to have drivers from both the east coast and west coast battling in what we expect to see full lineups in all classes. The staff here at DKC is set to spend the next three months preparing to host what we think will be the biggest SpringNationals ever.”

The SpringNationals will precede the 2014 SKUSA Pro Tour SummerNationals – set for the new Modesto Grand Prix in Northern California on August 1-3. The City of Modesto and Superkarts! USA have partnered to put on a three-day grand prix through the streets of the downtown area. SKUSA SuperNationals XVIII will close out the 2014 Pro Tour on November 19-23, once again outside the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Registration for the 2014 Superkarts! USA SpringNationals at the Dallas Karting Complex will open March 15, with all event information – including the host hotel – to be published by then.
