The racers voiced their opinions about the Texas ProKart Challenge tire requirements and the series listened. Due to racer feedback Texas ProKart Challenge has changed the tire rule and all classes will be required to have new tires on Saturday only, new tires on Sunday are optional.

SKUSA and local option classes must buy their tires from the series. Rotax classes may buy their tires from any dealer. Tire purchase is available through online registration on the Texas ProKart Challenge website and will be delivered to the track.

New Texas ProKart Challenge Announces Cost-Saving Initiatives
Wednesday, 07 March 2012 12:35
The promoters of the newly created Texas ProKart Challenge (TPKC) are very excited to announce the development of several cost-saving initiatives that have been designed to make the series more attractive to area racers. Competitors in the Texas-based regional series will have the opportunity to win a paid entry into the world-renowned SKUSA SuperNationals and the prestigious United States Rotax Grand Nationals, and they will also be offered the chance to qualify for TPKC entry fee discounts. In addition, the partnership between SKUSA and Vortex will provide the opportunity for Cadet class drivers to run in the TaG Cadet category through a loaner engine program. When combined with the wealth of talent on hand in the Lone Star state, the stage is set for an impressive inaugural three-event season.
One of the primary objectives of any karter racing in the Texas ProKart Challenge will be to win a championship title. Drivers who win the title in the SKUSA classes will receive a guaranteed starting position in the SuperSunday main event at the SuperNationals, regardless of their heat race or LCQ performances. The series promoters have added a further incentive to strive for with the announcement of paid entries to the SKUSA SuperNationals and the US Rotax Nationals. A portion of each Texas ProKart Challenge entry fee is being utilized to give the 2012 class champions in the SKUSA classes a paid entry to the SKUSA SuperNationals XVI at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada this November. The Rotax class champions will also be part of the program, earning a paid entry to the US Rotax Grand Nationals at Michiana Raceway Park in South Bend, Indiana in late August.
Midwest ProKart Challenge to Re-fire SKUSA Program in Great Lakes Region
Thursday, 23 February 2012 11:29
Superkarts! USA is thrilled to announce the rebirth of its flagship series in the Great Lakes region, which will take area karters to facilities in Missouri, Wisconsin and Indiana. The program is now dubbed the Midwest ProKart Challenge and will be the leader in shifterkart and TaG competition in the region, headed by long-time SKUSA team member Stan Bryniarski. The series will be co-managed directly through the SKUSA National office in California. The growth of the SKUSA regional program is continuing, bringing all of the participation benefits to racers in this area of the country. Races have now been confirmed at TNT Kartways, the Road America Motorplex and New Castle Motorsports Park.

The opening round of the series will take the drivers to TNT Kartways in West Quincy, Missouri on the May 19-20 weekend. This facility has played host to many major national events in its 50+ years of operation and will launch the new Midwest ProKart Challenge. The unique sound of gearbox engines and single-speed TaG powerplants will then fire up the Briggs & Stratton Motorplex at Road America on July 7-8. The track has just recently invested in grinding its surface to eliminate the rough nature that has come to falsely characterize the facility in recent years, providing MPKC drivers with the best experience possible. The program will be capped on August 18-19 at the ever-popular New Castle Motorsports Park in Indiana. Each weekend will include Friday practice and separate race days on Saturday and Sunday. Drivers who attend all three events will also put themselves near the front of the queue for SKUSA’s new Preferred Entry Program for the SuperNationals.
Superkarts! USA Adds Texas ProKart Challenge to Regional Line-up
Tuesday, 31 January 2012 12:25
It’s been a number of years since an official Superkarts! USA event has been run in Texas, but this will change during the 2012 season as the SKUSA National Office is thrilled to announce the formation of an official regional program in the Lone Star State. The organization has long enjoyed strong participation from the Texas karting community, especially at the annual SuperNationals, making this a huge step towards further developing their growing regional platform. The new Texas ProKart Challenge will consist of three double-race weekends, running with the Gulf Coast Karters in Katy, Grandsport Speedway in Houston, and the North Texas Karters in Denton. This announcement comes hot on the heels of the recent confirmation of SKUSA’s renewed involvement in the Pacific Northwest, and sets the stage for an exciting season in 2012.

“Texas has an incredible wealth of talent, and we’re always happy to be able to host so many of them every year at the SuperNationals,” said Tom Kutscher, Superkarts! USA President. “The announcement of this new region in Texas means a lot to us, and it’s a major addition to our growing regional program. Expanding the reach of our Stock Moto and TaG rules package is a primary goal here at SKUSA, and I’m pleased to be able to begin what I believe will be a long relationship with the Texas karting community.”

The following is the schedule for this year’s debut season:

2012 Texas ProKart Challenge
May 5-6: Gulf Coast Karters - Katy, TX
June 2-3: Grandsport Speedway - Houston, TX
June 30-July 1: North Texas Karters - Denton, TX
